In 2020，the NPC adopted the Civil Code providing overall protection to the civil rights of natural persons as well as the decision on safeguarding state security in HKSAR；the NPC’ Standing Committee adopted the laws on supervising the public employees in performing duties，safeguarding bio-security，protecting the ex-servicemen’s legitimate rights and benefits，safeguarding state security in KHSAR and the decision on protecting human life and health，and revised the laws on protecting the minor’s rights，preventing minor from committing crimes，defining crimes and penalties，safeguarding the armed police force in performing duties，and protecting copyright，patent and right to vote；the State Council also adopted or nullified several administrative regulations in relation to human rights. As a result，the human rights protection under civil and criminal laws and the legislative protection on minor’s rights as well as right to life，right to health and several other specific rights have been obviously strengthened.
