China’s ocean education is developing in a good direction in 2020. In terms of policy，ocean education has been supported and guided by the Ministry of Education and included in the 14th Five Year Plan of some coastal provinces and cities. In practice，ocean education has been enriched in content，diversified in methods and expanded in scale. Both school ocean education and social ocean education have made varying degrees of progress. In terms of research，oceanographers and marine research journals have received more attention in the academic community. However，there are still many deficiencies. This report puts forward suggestions on improving ocean education policy planning，improving ocean education practice and promoting ocean education research，so as to promote the rational development of ocean education.
