The year 2020 is a very special year in the history of the Safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage（ICH）. In the face of the sudden epidemic of COVID-19，great changes have taken place in people’s lives. During this year，the Safeguarding and development of folk literature had not stopped and showed new characteristics. It has made further achievements in the construction of the list，rescue record，the digitization of the archives，and the “Great Department project of Chinese folk literature”. In 2020，digital technology will be more widely and deeply applied to the protection of the ICH. “Appreciating the ICH in the clouds” has become an important way for people to participate in the protection and inheritance of the ICH.

However，the inheritance of folklore intangible cultural heritage still faces severe challenges. It is difficult for non-heritage products of folk literature to enter the market directly in the form of handicrafts，and its traditional way of inheritance is also facing great challenges in today’s society. therefore，the transformation of the cultural resources of folk literature is an important way to protect and inherit the genre of folk literature in the new era. This requires not only the participation of persons who are at work on folklore or folk literature，but also the cooperation of persons from different fields to create truly good works for the public and give full play to the value of folk literature in today’s society.
