<<In 2019，the political deadlock between the president of Timor-leste and the National Congress reconstruction continued，and the party differences within the ruling coalition intensified，resulting in the failure of the General State Budget. Driven by the increase in public and private spending，the economy showed signs of recovery，but it was difficult to last. With the support of development partners，progress was made in a number of social areas. Its Maritime Boundaries Treaty with Australia officially came into effect，demonstrating that the relations between the two countries entered a new stage；its process of joining ASEAN also moved forward，with ASEAN sending a Political-Security Fact-Finding Mission to Timor-Leste. Timor-Leste maintained a momentum of all-round development for the cooperation with China，when both sides enjoyed greater opportunities for cooperation under the framework of Belt and Road Initiative.
