Strengthening the innovation chain to match the industrial chain is an urgent requirement for Jiangsu to accelerate Industry modernization and realize high-quality economic development in the new development stage. Firstly，the paper expounds the connotation mechanism of innovation chain matching Industry chain and its significance to Industry modernization. Then，it makes a statistical description of the current situation of Jiangsu innovation chain matching Industry chain from the perspective of interactive，coordinative and integrative development of innovation chain and Industry chain. The results show that in recent years，the innovation chain has neither effectively matched the needs of Industry chain nor supported the high-quality development of industry in Jiangsu，and the coordinative and integrative level of the two chains also needs to be improved. Then，the paper points out and analyzes the deep problems and their causes revealed by the above situation，from the perspectives of enterprise independent innovation ability，transformation of scientific research achievements，allocation of innovation resources and industrial linkage. Finally，from the three aspects of opening economy transformation，Industry cluster upgrading and innovation layout optimization，the paper puts forward the strategic thinking and countermeasures of strengthening innovation chain matching Industry chain in Jiangsu to promote Industry modernization.
