Long-term activities for large-scale prospecting，mining，sand mining，and overloading of human and livestock have caused localized destruction of vegetation，soil erosion，surface collapse and serious damage to ecological environment in the Qilian Mountain. Since 2017，the local government and the national park administration have intensified the comprehensive management of “mountain，water，forest，lake，grass and sand” in the process of handling the ecological and environmental damages in Qilian Mountain and the rectification of problems found in two rounds of environmental supervision by the central government. In the current process of ecological high-quality sustainable development，the forestry and grassland construction of the Qilian Mountain play a very important role in restoring ecological environment，preventing soil erosion，and conserving water. Seedling construction is the foundation of forest and grass construction. Afforestation in the Qilian Mountain and cities requires a large number of high-quality seedlings. This Book studies the current situation of forest seedling industry in Hexi region and finds that the industry has a series of problems such as low industrialization level，small production and operation scale，weak competitiveness，etc.，and proposes to strengthen the construction of breeding bases for improved varieties，improve the technical system for expansion of improved varieties，prepare for the establishment of breeding bases with local characteristics，encourage the production and management of non-public seedlings，broaden the sales channels of seedlings，and build sightseeing nurseries，with a view to providing benefits for the ecological restoration of the Qilian Mountain and the forest seedling industry in the Hexi region.
