Firstly，This paper introduced the development status of Shanghai international financial center and four advantages of Pudong development，including location advantage，elements advantage，industry advantage and system advantage. And then we determined the function positioning and strategic significance for Pudong to build the core area of Shanghai international financial center. Secondly，this paper summarized the development status of Pudong from five aspects，including the agglomeration trend of financial institutions，the leading role of free trade zone，the construction of financial service platform in Yangtze River Delta，the efficiency of financial servicing the real economy and the agglomeration of financial talents. Thirdly，we think Pudong should make every effort to build a high-level system opening base，enhance the function level of global resource allocation，and further enhance the efficiency of financial services to the real economy to help Shanghai build an international financial center in the future.
