Wudaokou area of Beijing is known as “the center of the universe”. In recent years，this region has shown such characteristics as chaotic layout，noise，traffic congestion，obvious macrostructure，strong centrifugal differentiation，etc. Therefore，the optimization transformation of public space based on “flow space” is to make the region’s close and orderly，close and efficient，close and livable. By combing the historical and current situation of this area，this paper analyzes the transformation texture of this area，studies and proposes to build public leisure space，add overpasses，advocate sharing economy，properly use underground space and so on，and realize the expansion of open space through more vertical urban center construction.
