Henan province enjoys irreplaceable advantages in natural resources of Chinese medicinal materials with profound historical and cultural resources of TCM，especially the time-honored health preservation cultural resources represented by the medical sage Zhang Zhongjing and the King of Medicine Sun Simiao. Stepping up the development of a powerful province in traditional Chinese medicine and revitalize traditional Chinese medicine have become the consensus of Henan Provincial Party Committee and the People’s Government of Henan province. The integrated and optimized cultural resources of traditional Chinese medicine in central and western Henan have already generated brand effect. However，there are also some problems in the development and utilization of traditional Chinese medicine resources in Henan province. For example，the management of traditional Chinese medicine blindly follows the management of western medicine，the cultivation and the development of education of traditional Chinese medicine professionals are lack of plan，the development of traditional Chinese medicine industry falls far behind and its resources advantage has not yet been transformed into the industrial competitiveness，the utilization and brand publicity of traditional Chinese medicine natural resources and cultural resources are not enough. Promoting the development of a powerful province in traditional Chinese medicine firmly，it’s the first step to lift the strategic positioning of the development of a powerful province in traditional Chinese medicine and master the general thought of the development of traditional Chinese medicine precisely；it’s needed to further identify the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in Henan province to make efforts to create a series of brands of traditional Chinese medicine；it’s necessary to build a wealth of professionals of traditional Chinese medicine and explore the cultivation model suitable for the development of traditional Chinese medicine professionals；to carry out joint scientific and technological research and coordinated transformation of scientific and technological achievements，and technological achievements to enhance the capacity of health service are essential；and at last，it’s indispensable to increase the fund invested by the government and society to develop enterprises of traditional Chinese medicine.
