The construction of the pilot free trade zone is of great significance for China to participate in the governance of the new pattern of global economy and connect with the new rules of international economy and trade. The FTA has adhered to the core functions of the system，and has made a lot of valuable exploration and innovation in the fields of trade liberalization，investment facilitation，the opening of the financial industry and the transformation of government functions. It has played a key role in stabilizing COVID-19’s foreign trade and foreign capital market. There are still some problems in the development of China’s Pilot Free Trade Zone，such as low proportion of high-value system innovation，insufficient stress testing，lack of benchmarking international economic and trade rules，etc. In order to promote the high-quality development of the Pilot Free Trade Zone，we should strengthen the top-level design，accelerate the legislative guarantee，straighten out the management system，provide a high-quality policy environment for system innovation，stress testing and financial opening，and encourage “bold trial，bold breakthrough and active reform” by establishing a fault-tolerant mechanism. By strengthening the integrated development of manufacturing industry and modern service industry，we will continue to expand the industrial cluster foundation of the pilot free trade zone and enhance the radiation strength to give play to the “growth pole” effect. In addition，China has signed 17 free trade agreements with 25 countries and regions，which plays an important role in promoting China’s international economic and trade cooperation. In the future，we should continue to strengthen the network construction of high-standard free trade areas.
