In 2014，Guangzhou has achieved remarkable results in urban planning，construction，traffic，and lands，etc. In specific terms，it has sound planning，regulation and policy systems，sound transportation infrastructure；it takes the planning and implementation of projects associated with people’s well-beings as its priorities；it carries out environmental renovations for key areas；it optimizes urban and rural ecological environment；it promotes the coordinative development of urban-rural areas，as well as the planning of political and legal systems. But meanwhile，there exist some problems，including urban traffic supply failing to meet the travelling demand of residents effectively，the difficulties existing in the coordination of the three “planning” s（national economy and social development planning，urban comprehensive planning，and land use planning），and the structural contradictions between the limited land supply in old quarters，large amounts of empty properties and properties with low use efficiency. In the end，the paper carries on forecast for the general situation of Guangzhou’s urban construction，and proposes several suggestions for the improvement and enhancement of the level of Guangzhou’s urban construction.
