Sichuan has been undergoing increasing level of economic globalization，social and cultural diversification，as well as internationalization of higher education. In this context，Sichuan’s demand of international talents has been growing considerably. The foreign students studying in Sichuan has become a potential source of such international talent. By focusing on the current situation and development of foreign students studying in Sichuan，this report introduces the general trends of these foreign students and identifies Sichuan’s advantages in attracting them，which involves its recruitment strategies，policies to encourage them to work and start business in Sichuan upon graduation，internationalization of universities，as well as Sichuan’s unique natural，social and cultural features. Additionally，through conducting a preliminary explorative research on 12 foreign students studying at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics，this report explores their reasons for studying in Sichuan，their current situations as well as aspirations upon graduation. The findings not only indicate the advantages of universities in Sichuan in attracting foreign students，but also reveal some disadvantages. Based on the analysis，the report is concluded with five suggestions for policy consideration.
