In 2017， Shandong Province achieved a GDP of 7267818 million yuan， up 7.4% over the previous year. The economic operation throughout the year showed the characteristics of further optimization of industrial structure， steady growth of the three major demands， and continuous improvement of the quality of economic development. The leading effect of regional economic development has been further highlighted， with the implementation of a major project to transform old and new kinetic energy to activate a new engine and the economy running smoothly throughout the year. In 2017， the added value of Shandong's financial industry was 370724 million yuan， accounting for 5.10% of GDP， and the financial industry became the pillar industry of the province's economy. At the end of the year， the balance of local and foreign currency loans of financial institutions in Shandong Province was 7087.39 billion yuan， an increase of 8.6% over the beginning of the year. The annual premium income was 3658101 million yuan， an increase of 18.16% over the previous year. Shandong has vigorously developed a multi-level capital market. The number of listed companies， the number of new third-board listed companies and the number of listed companies in regional equity trading centers have all increased significantly， adding 536.69 billion yuan in direct financing for the whole year.
