The Qunan community considers its territory as a community conserved area（CCA）for the conservation of White-headed langur and sustainable use of natural resources. The CCA has its own governance institutions rooted in the collective decision of all members and the inclusive participation of key stakeholders. The customary laws of Qunan ensure effective management of CCA with the surveillance by each member. The community also runs an environmental education center now under the disciplines of prior and informed consent and equal benefit-sharing. The good-governance and effective management of CCA are not only restoring the langur population and habitats，but also enhancing the self-identity，solidarity and social capital of the community.
