In 2021，the residents’ income maintained a restorative growth under multiple tests，and the income gap between urban and rural areas and among different regions continued to narrow. Consumer spending has gradually improved，and the consumption potential remains to be released. Consumer confidence is generally strong，and employment confidence is better than income confidence. In recent years，the national income distribution has been steadily improved，and the resident consumption rate has experienced some fluctuation. In order to realize the steady growth of income and consumption of urban and rural residents for the 2022 and the 14th Five Year Plan period，the government should pay more attention to promote common prosperity and improve the quality of economic development. Hard work spirit and innovation should be encouraged，and residents’ labor income should be stabilized. The three-child policy and the delaying of retirement should be implemented. The fairness and sustainability of people’s livelihood should be promoted. Meanwhile，government should optimize the structure of tax system and enhance residents’ consumption ability. Policies regarding the improvement of level of supply and the steady upgrading of consumption should be supported.
