As the key component of emergency management，emergency science popularization is also the important issue for the high-quality development of science popularization. The present report discussed the theoretical guidance for the development of emergency science popularization in China and the significance of strengthening emergency science popularization on the high-quality improvement of national science popularization capacity. Meanwhile，the comprehensive development index of China’s science popularization capacity in 2019 was calculated. In addition，the development status of China’s emergency science popularization and national science popularization capacity were analyzed from the perspective of improving the emergency science popularization mechanism. Furthermore，with the coordinated development as the guidance，countermeasures and suggestions aiming at comprehensively improving the national science popularization capacity were put forward.
