The Belt and Road Initiative （BRI） is an important decision-making arrangement made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to take the initiative to cope with various challenges and make overall plans at home and abroad under the complicated and changeable global situation and the increasing downward pressure on China’s economy. It is an important measure for China to build a comprehensive and open economy in the new period. Beijing is the national “political center”，“cultural center”，“international exchange center” and “scientific and technological innovation center”. It has close economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative，and its multiple attributes make Beijing have a special and important position in the Belt and Road Initiative. Focusing on the promotion of BRI construction and development in Beijing，this paper analyzes the current cooperation situation between Beijing and the countries along the BRI，and proposes that Beijing should make full use of its capital advantages，economic advantages and location advantages to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the countries along the BRI. At the same time，It is important to identify the cooperation orientation，industrial orientation and cultural orientation，so as to better serve the construction of BRI. In the future，Beijing will promote the construction of BRI by building an important platform for international cooperation，becoming a communication center of Chinese excellent traditional culture and speeding up the construction of science and technology creative center. In terms of policy guarantee，we should give more prominence to the policy coordination function，give full play to Beijing’s economic advantages and its position as an investment and financing center，and optimize the supporting service system through Beijing’s international influence.
