Strengthening the application of information technology by making full use of the Internet，big data and cloud computing to carry out supervision，evaluation and monitoring is an important element in improving the ways of educational supervision，and an important measure to deepen the reform of the institutional mechanism for the educational supervision in the new era. Jiang’an District of Wuhan City，Hubei Province，improved the informatization foundation and level of educational supervisors，and enhanced the reliability of educational supervision through a series of measures including：developing educational supervision information system，developing educational supervision index system，applying the data of educational supervision，and scientifically analyzing the data of educational supervision. The practice of Jiang’an District showed that the use of big data to promote the reform of the institutional mechanism for educational supervision required professional team for platform development，profound knowledge for index system development，reliable data，and appropriate data application.
