Based on the basic framework of China’s sustainable development evaluation index system，the report comprehensively and systematically carries out data validation analysis and ranking on the sustainable development status of China’s national，provincial and large and medium-sized cities in 2019. The data verification results and analysis show that，from the national level，China’s sustainable development situation continues to improve steadily. From 2015 to 2019，the sustainable development indicators show a steady growth year by year，the economic development is relatively stable，the social and people’s livelihood progress is obvious，and the effectiveness of governance and protection is gradually emerging. The obvious shortcomings of sustainable development are：the carrying capacity of resources and environment is still weak，and the consumption and emission have a negative impact on economic and social activities. At the provincial level，Beijing，Shanghai，Zhejiang，Guangdong，Tianjin，Fujian，Jiangsu，Hubei，Chongqing and Sichuan rank among the top ten，Hubei Province in the central region ranks the eighth highest，and Chongqing in the western region ranks the ninth. The data validation analysis of sustainable development index system of 100 large and medium-sized cities shows that Hangzhou，Zhuhai，Guangzhou and other eastern coastal cities rank high in sustainable development，and the top ten cities are Hangzhou，Zhuhai，Guangzhou，Beijing，Wuxi，Shenzhen，Suzhou，Wuhan，Nanjing and Zhengzhou，among which Hangzhou ranks first for the first time. The report also analyzes the challenges brought by the epidemic to the sustainable development of China and even the whole world，and the policy responses adopted by the whole world to combat the epidemic. According to the report，China has entered a new stage of development and is also in a critical period of sustainable development transformation. It is necessary to firmly implement the new development concept，speed up the construction of a new development pattern，continuously push forward the UN 2030 sustainable development agenda，dynamically maintain an organic balance among economy，society and environment，and promote China to achieve more inclusive，resilient and greener sustainable development.
