The focus of popular science work is at the grassroots level and in the community. This paper takes Tongzhou，Changping，and Dongcheng districts as samples，establishes the performance evaluation index system of Beijing science popularization community from the two dimensions of science input and output，and determines the index weights through the expert questionnaire method and the key tasks of community science popularization. The performance evaluation model includes two parts：input and output. The input part is based on the total amount of capital input and demand，and the output part is the comprehensive score of community science popularization effects，science popularization content，and science popularization channels. It is recommended that when the evaluation model is applied，performance evaluation and comparative analysis should be carried out according to the community population and the size of funds，so as to improve the scientificity and comparability，and provide decision-making reference for planning community science popularization work and improving the efficiency of science popularization investment.
