In conducting research on promoting development along the Yangtze River Economic Belt，Zhang Yuanfang，a counselor at the Counsellors’ Office of the State Council，and Wu Liang，a contract research fellow at the Counsellors’ Office of the State Council，have found that logistics operators along the Yangtze River Economic Belt remain woefully small，weak and fragmented. The logistics sector，which should have served as a key artery，is plagued by numerous choke points，which has become a bottleneck that impedes the upgrading of the industrial base and the modernization of the industrial chain along the Yangtze River Economic Belt. In order to accelerate the development of a thriving logistics industry along the Yangtze River Economic Belt，the researchers suggest that we should take a targeted approach to nurturing market-based logistics operators by removing administrative，industrywide and data barriers.
