Due to the advantages such as inverted depth-dose distribution and high relative biological effectiveness，heavy ion beam is considered to be the optimal type of ionizing radiations for radiotherapy. The first Carbon Ion Therapy System in China，developed by the Institute of Modern Physics，Chinese Academy of Sciences，was authorized by the National Medical Products Administration （NMPA）and registered as a medical device of class Ⅲ，promoting the progress of Chinese high-end medical equipment and being of great significance to improve tumor therapeutic means and levels in China.
