Due to the failure to hold parliamentary elections on schedule,the Haitian parliament was closed in 2020. The president without parliamentary constraints took the opportunity to unilaterally implement strong reforms,including the implementation of constitutional amendments that redistribute the power of the government and parliament. The economy has been greatly affected by COVID-19. Thanks to the effective countermeasures,the economic situation in Haiti was relatively stable. Due to the support of the international community,the social situation was improved,and protests decreased,but the social security problem remained to be severe. Haiti maintained good relations with the United States,but its relationship with Dominican Republic was still tense and turbulent. The relations with China were stable.
