Medical devices are an important part of the pharmaceutical industry. In recent years，along with the deepening of the reform of the national medical and health system，the related policies of medical devices have been issued closely. According to statistics released by the China Pharmaceutical Recruitment Union，there are 1089 policies on medical devices issued by state and local authorities from 2016 to March 2020，including 493 at the national level，accounting for 45.2%，596 at the local level，accounting for 54.8%，and the number of policies on medical devices is increasing year by year. Compared with 2016-2018，more documents were issued in 2019，with 311 published，including 68 official national level and 243 provincial-level and municipal-level ones. It is expected that the policy ecology of medical device industry will show five characteristics in 2020：（1）the policy thinking of medicine industry permeates to medical device industry；（2）the quantity of policy issued shows the rising trend；（3）the center of gravity of policy changes with the advancement of medical reform；（4）the development from macro-control to detailed management；（5）the medical insurance and centralized procurement will become the core of concern.
