2010年上海世博会是迄今为止规模最大、参观者最多、影响最为深远的一次世博会，它的主题“城市，让生活更美好”，集中体现了上海世博会的理念和特色。本报告依据与上海世博会直接相关的统计数据和调查数据，从更广的视野对2010年上海世博会的社会经济效益和社会影响进行初步的评估。分析表明，上海世博会对上海社会经济发展具有明显的促进作用，增强了中国的国际声望，加快了上海的基础设施建设，增加了就业岗位，加快了上海成为国际旅游中心的步伐。
<<The 2010 Shanghai World Expo has far-reaching influence，and is by far the largest World Expo in terms of its scale and the amount of visitors. As the most successful World Expo，Shanghai World Expo introduces the theme “City makes life better” to highlight the feature and ideology of this World Expo. From the analysis of 2010 World Expo’s statistics and survey data，the report conducts a preliminary evaluation on the 2010 World Expo’s socioeconomic benefit and its social impact from a wider standpoint. The statistics show that the 2010 World Expo significantly promoted Shanghai’s social and economic development. On the one hand，the 2010 World Expo enhances China’s international prestige，and facilitates the infrastructure construction around Shanghai. Also，hosting the 2010 World Expo creates more employment opportunities and accelerates the pace of Shanghai being the world center of tourism.
