In 2020，with the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the world，Taiwan’s tourism security situation is seriously suffered，the number of mainland tourists to Taiwan after 2019 showed a cliff-breaking decline. With such situations，this study analyzes the characteristics and influencing factors of tourism safety incidents in Taiwan in 2020，and finds that：（1）the number of tourism safety incidents in Taiwan remains stable in 2020 compared with the previous year，but the accident casualty rate is reduced；（2）The type of tourism safety incident in Taiwan is mainly accident disaster，which mainly manifests itself in tourist traffic accident and entertainment safety accident；（3）Tourism safety incidents occur mostly in the summer，northern Taiwan is a high incidence of tourism security emergencies；（4）natural disasters occur periodically，mainly in earthquake disasters and marine disasters；（5）public health incidents occur prominently.
