Compared with the past，as an organic component of network arts and an important category of contemporary animation & comic，network animation & comic has made obvious progress in terms of creation，dissemination and industrial development：the number of works is steadily increasing，the genre production is ‘broad and concentrated’，the creation of ‘National Comic’ has advanced，the features of‘Chinese Animation’ are distinctive，and artistic quality is further improved，the number of ‘Pan’-Two Dimensional users is at a record high，and response from these users is good，the influence at domestic and abroad is expanding，and the industrial production value is growing. What is even more valuable is that we have made a step forward in rebuilding the‘Chinese Animation School’ or creating a‘New Chinese Animation School’. However，there are also some problems in the development，for example，under the influence of the general environment formed by many factors，the genre of works is too concentrated，the theme and style are relatively single，the aesthetic characteristic of network animation & comic has not been fully emerged，and the investment and financing of animation production is shrinking，etc.，However，based on the realistic practice and focus on future development，as a vibrant and creative arts form，the relationship between ‘animation’ and‘comic’ in the creation and production of network animation & comic is getting closer and closer. Besides，in the growing blend and interpenetration with film & television animation as well as paper comic，‘animation’ and ‘comic’ are gradually becoming the mainstream style. The‘new Chinese animation school’ will also go global through network animation，which shows its profound potential and diverse development possibilities.
