In terms of aging society, most of the cities in China have problems. Shortcomings have appeared in the current environment construction of facilities for the elderly. Friendly cities, friendly communities and comfortable families are developed as the first step of friendly living environment for the elderly. Active approaches are undertaken through modification programs, barrier-free facilities, non-block communication and city roads and building construction and are steadily upgraded by the newly revised "Law of the People's Republic of China on Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Elderly". However, there are problems in the long term development of friendly environment for the elderly, innovation and exploration should be employed in order to break the traditional concept and to create new situation in the construction of friendly environment construction for the elderly. <<
