Since the reform and opening up, China's government institutions have undergone eight reforms. In general, they have moved to a service-oriented government in the direction of streamlining administration and decentralization, streamlining institutions, and reducing micro-interventions, and have continuously adjusted themselves to meet the needs of the development of socialism. This institutional reform has not only merged some departments with similar functions, but also made targeted reforms in highlighting the party's leadership, economic transformation and development, preventing and mitigating major risks, precision poverty alleviation, and pollution prevention, which allows China's socialist cause to move forward steadily under the new normal.
