Harbin Economic and Technological Development Zone (Harbin Development Zone) was set up in June 1991, approved by the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee and Provincial Government. It was promoted to a national economic and technological development zone in April 1993, approved by the State Council. With the development of 20 years, Harbin Development Zone has played a leading role in the economic development of the city and even the whole province.The ten years' development of Harbin Development Zone from 2001 to 2010 is reviewed, and a comparative analysis is conducted between Harbin Development Zone and other economic development zones in the central area based on the economic indicators of the recent three years. At last, aiming at the opportunities and problems that Harbin Development Zone is faced with, measures and suggestions are put forward on the principle of promoting the sustainable development of Harbin Development Zone. <<
