2020 is the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. Under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee，Shenzhen has strengthened the work on key points to promote the whole，and has taken a new step in building a pattern of collaboration，participation，and common interests. Shenzhen has promoted the pilot work of the modernization of municipal social governance comprehensively，and has successfully declared to be listed in the first batch of pilot cities of the modernization of municipal social governance in China. Shenzhen has organized and held the city-wide social governance modernization work promotion meeting and grassroots social governance innovation experience promotion meeting，and has comprehensively deployed and promoted the city-wide social governance modernization work. The Shenzhen pilot work experience has been fully acknowledged by the Political and Legal Commission of the Central Committee and the Political and Legal Commission of the Provincial Party Committee，and has been given the chance for an on-the-spot speech on the national pilot experience exchange meeting of modernization of urban social governance. However，there are still deficiencies in the overall cognition and understanding of connotation and extension of city-wide social governance. There are also some flaws on participation enthusiasm of multiple actors，and innovation of ways and means of urban social governance. In 2021，Shenzhen must make further progress on reforms of urban social governance notions，governance system and governance modes.
