In 2019，Xiamen actively responded to the downward pressure on the economy and the adverse effects of Sino-US trade frictions，therefore，its overall economic performance showed a steady and upward trend，the GDP growth rate ranked the first among sub-provincial cities，the real economy was continuously strengthened. In addition，its reforms in key areas were continuously deepened，the pace of opening up was accelerated，the cross-island development was steadily advancing，it achieved tangible results for the green development，the quality of the urban functions was improved，the development of social undertakings was accelerated，and the people’s well-being continued to improve. At the same time，there were still some difficulties and problems in development. The economic situations at home and abroad become more unstable and uncertain，and the downward pressure on the economy was high，in this context，some enterprises faced difficulties in production and operation，the leading enterprises had insufficient momentum of development，the system and mechanism for integrated urban-rural development still need to be improved，and there were still some weak links in the field of social and people’s livelihood.
