The Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC and the outline of the 14th five year plan clearly put forward the “implementation of the national strategy of actively responding to the aging of population”，among which improving the service system for the aged is the core content of the future development. This paper analyzes the trend and current situation of aging population in Beijing，and the quantity and quality of the provision of nursing homes and services. It points out that although the development of pension services in Beijing has reached remarkable achievement，there are still some practical challenges such as unbalanced regional development，imperfect market and insufficient resources. In order to cope with the increasingly severe situation of elderly caring service，Beijing can continuously improve the pension service system in the aspects of balanced development of elderly services，market supplement and smart pension service.
