During the long-term historical development of the Tibetan people in Diqing（hereinafter referred to as “Diqing Prefecture”），the Tibetan people have created a series of production knowledge and skills heritage by relying on the specific natural，geographical，humanistic and historical environment of Diqing Prefecture. These knowledge and heritage lies mainly in the form of traditional handicraft in the production and daily life of the Tibetan people. This paper takes the traditional handicrafts in the national and provincial intangible cultural heritage list as an example to demonstrate the inheritance status and the development of the traditional handicrafts of the Tibetans in Diqing from the perspective of poverty alleviation. At present，some achievements have been made in the inheritance and development of Diqing Tibetan traditional handicrafts，but there are still some problems to be solved. The report believes that through commercialization，industrialization，productive development and targeted poverty alleviation measures，we can protect and inherit the traditional handicrafts of the Tibetan people in Diqing，and help the Tibetan people lift out of poverty and become rich.
