With a long history，a vast territory and rich intangible cultural heritage resources，Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture has strengthened the protection of intangible cultural heritage projects and has made outstanding achievements in recent years. Starting from the national and provincial intangible cultural heritage projects and representative inheritors，the report summarizes the important experience of Gannan Prefecture in formulating laws and regulations，holding various performances，and developing intangible cultural heritage with the help of “poverty alleviation”. It also analyzes the problems of serious aging of inheritors，lack of professionals and funds，and low participation of the public in intangible cultural heritage inheritance and development. Besides，it shows that we can promote the protection and development of intangible cultural heritage in Gannan Prefecture by training inheritors of the new era in various colleges and universities based on various subjects.
