Inheritors of intangible cultural heritage are the main body of intangible cultural heritage inheritance and protection, functioning as an important carrier to reflect the “liveness” of intangible cultural heritage. Since the first list of representative inheritors in 2007,the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has successively announced five batches of representative inheritors of national intangible cultural heritage projects in various provinces(autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government),and cities(autonomous prefectures). Counties(autonomous counties, districts)have also announced the list of representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, forming a four-level protection system. Among the representative inheritors of national intangible heritage,27.87% are intangible cultural heritage inheritors of ethnic minorities. Based on the statistics and analysis of representative inheritors of national intangible cultural heritage, this report summarizes relevant protection experience and characteristics. It also points out that the protected inheritors get older, gradually showing the characteristics of “individualized, professionalized, and marketed” and exposing the imperfection of supervision mechanism. Therefore, the report puts forward the suggestions of expanding the scope of ethnic minority inheritors, improving relevant evaluation and reward mechanisms, establishing social supervision and expert-assisting systems, and continuing to implement the inheritance training programs.
