<<In early 2020,after the outbreak of COVID-19,the operation of urban rail transit was severely impacted. Some urban lines were suspended, passenger flow of normal operating lines plummeted, passenger revenue plummeted, and rail transit construction was affected. This paper analyzes the impact of COVID-19 on urban rail transit operation from the aspects of line suspension, passenger volume, operation, construction of new lines, and income and expenditure of operating enterprises. The results show that a total of 14 cities had their lines or stations shut down, and the annual passenger traffic decreased by about 26% compared with 2019. However, the peak hour maximum section passenger traffic in more than 10 cities still maintained an increase, and the maximum daily passenger traffic in 19 cities also exceeded 2019. The majority of cities support two-dimensional code and UnionPay card purchase,one-way ticket usage dropped sharply, less than 1% in Shenzhen. The expenditure on epidemic prevention materials had little impact on the operating enterprises. Thirteen enterprises saw their energy consumption increase by less than 10%,and six enterprises by more than 10%. The operating losses of 21 companies increased by about 50 percent compared to their budget at the beginning of the year, two companies exceeded 50 percent, and two companies exceeded 100 percent.
