In general，the social mentality of Guangzhou in 2020 presents a positive trend，and the influence of COVID-19 on the social mentality is limited. This is reflected in several aspects：compared with 2018，the happiness of Guangzhou residents has been improved slightly；the overall sense of security in all aspects has been improved，with food safety being the biggest improvement；three aspects of the sense of gain improved，the medical service quality of the sense of gain improved the largest range；social anxiety decreased overall，with the greatest decline in anxiety related to “social security”. The epidemic has a certain impact on some aspects of social mentality，which is mainly reflected in the decrease of the sense of gain in “income situation” and “quality of life”，and the increase of anxiety related to “price rise” and other aspects. Personal privacy and information security scored the lowest in all categories of security. In terms of social trust，the trust in official media has been greatly improved，and the trust in information transmitted by acquaintances has declined the most，while the trust among ordinary social members is not high.
