In 2018，Yunnan ranked the 5th in the increase of the total culture and education consumption in city-towns and the 5th in the growth of per capita value. The Rankings of the status evaluation are as follows：In the lateral evaluation among various provinces，Yunnan ranked the 7th in the 2018 annual status evaluation leaders；In vertical evaluation itself，Yunnan ranked the 16th in the 1998-2018 status evaluation runners-up，as well as 4th，1st，2nd and 6th during the periods of 1998-2018，2003-2018，2008-2018 and 2013-2018 respectively.
