2020 is the year of political elections in Tajikistan. The smooth holding of the fifth lower house of parliament and the sixth upper house of parliament，as well as the most important presidential election in which Rahmon was reelected without any suspense，marked that Tajikistan’s politics entered a period of stable development and basically defined the route of its future successors. The economic situation of the whole year was obviously impacted by the COVID-19，showing an obvious downward trend，but there also some new highlights showed up，mainly reflected in agriculture and some specific industrial fields. The three major priorities proposed by President Rahmon will become the main goals of Tajikistan’s future development. In the field of foreign affairs，more attention has been paid to constructing the relations with Russia，Kazakhstan，Uzbekistan，Europe and the United States. “Telephone diplomacy” and “cloud diplomacy” on the Internet have become the main channels of diplomacy throughout the year. Tajikistan actively develops all-round cooperative relations with China，and the high-level officials of China and Tajikistan maintain close interaction throughout the year. The two countries have made outstanding achievements in the field of anti-epidemic cooperation，and the cooperation under the “Belt and Road” framework has also yielded a number of important achievements，highlighting the future prospects of bilateral relations.
