The world today is undergoing major changes unseen in a century. The “Belt and Road” Initiative has broader and boarder prospects，considering its increasingly apparent vital significance for China and beyond. As integration deepens，the Yangtze River Delta becomes more capable of getting involved in and pushing forward the the “Belt and Road” Initiative. In view of this，the paper examines the relationship between the Yangtze River Delta and the “Belt and Road” Initiative. First of all，this paper reviews the theoretical basis and practical advantages of the Yangtze River Delta integration and its services for the “Belt and Road” Initiative based on the speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping from the economic and geographic perspective of the Yangtze River Delta. Then，this paper summarizes the practice and its effectiveness of the Yangtze River Delta in building the “Belt and Road”，covering trade，investment，overseas economic cooperation zones，and China-Europe Railway Express. Based on practical results，policy recommendations are offered for the Yangtze River Delta to better contribute to the “Belt and Road” construction. In the future，holistic thinking and planning is necessary，so as to advance the Yangtze River Delta integration and the “Belt and Road” construction in a coordinated manner. Provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Delta should establish a mechanism for division of labor and cooperation and make clear key tasks on the basis of recognizing respective comparative advantages. With Shanghai at the center，Jiangsu，Zhejiang and Anhui should leverage complementary advantages to jointly serve the Belt and Road Initiative. Besides，it is necessary to broaden the approaches of building the “Belt and Road” by making full use of such modes as overseas economic cooperation zones，China-Europe Railway Express，and cross-border e-commerce.
