While the 2020 Covid-19 outbreak has exerted global impact in all respects，the “Belt and Road” Initiative has gone against the wind and made hard-won positive progress，demonstrating strong resilience and vigorous vitality. China has taken the lead in curbing the epidemic and realizing the full resumption of work and production，contributing greatly to the stability of the global industrial chain，supply chain and value chain，and significantly bolstering the confidence and determination of countries involved to jointly build the “Belt and Road”. However，at the same time，the world economy is experiencing a severe recession under the impact of Covid-19，and both the external and internal contexts have undergone profound changes，posing complex challenges to the “Belt and Road” Initiative. Looking forward to the future，China must uphold the principles of extensive consultation，joint contribution and shared benefits and the principles of openness，greenness and integrity，and grasp and make good use of the important strategic opportunities for China’s development while guarding against and resolving major risks. Focus efforts can be made to vigorously build a green，healthy and digital Silk Road and steadily promote the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road”.
