As a basic life service industry in the national economy，the catering industry has achieved a leap in income scale from 3 trillion to 4 trillion during the 13th Five Year Plan period，and continues to play an important role in expanding consumption，stabilizing employment，ensuring people’s livelihood and inheriting culture. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic，the catering industry has been in a serious recession in 2020，and the pandemic has also accelerated the adjustment of industrial structure and promoted the development of industrial standardization and digitalization. At the starting point of the 14th Five Year Plan，the catering industry should follow the 14th Five Year Plan，closely focus on the needs of people’s better life，standing on the new development stage，actively implement the new development concept，integrate high-quality industrial development into the new development pattern of the 14th Five Year Plan，and contribute to the long-term goal of 2035 and the second Centennial goal.
