Based on the Baidu Index，this paper analyzes the status of public attention and changes in issues in the field of social governance in 2020. The analysis found that due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic，the public’s attention to major issues in the fields of people’s livelihood，social undertakings，social participation，and grassroots governance has changed significantly compared with 2019. This not only reflects the public’s concern about the impact of the epidemic，but also shows the public’s positive psychological trend after the achievements in economic and social development and the effectiveness of epidemic prevention and control. This has laid a good social foundation for the sustained and healthy development of the economy and society. In this regard，taking further targeted measures to strengthen economic and social development，guiding and strengthening the good public social mentality，is of positive significance for the smooth implementation of the ‘14th Five-Year Plan’ and the promotion of sustained and rapid economic and social development.
