Based on the overall situation of Chinese museums，this article makes a comprehensive analysis of Beijing museums in 2016-2019 from the aspects of scale and quantity，level and classification，number of collections，exhibition and educational activities，and number of visitors，according to specific museum data released by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. On the basis of investigation and research，select small and medium-sized museums of different types to conduct in-depth case analysis，and refer to the relevant situation of foreign museums，point out the existing problems in the development of museums in China，and put forward targeted development suggestions to promote the healthy development of museums.
