Sports venues and facilities are the general name of sports venues built to meet the needs of mass fitness and leisure，sports training，sports competitions and other sports activities. Based on the data of the seventh national sports venues survey and the research results of the operation of sports venues in Shanghai，this paper presents the overall situation，regional differences，venue distribution，management mode and the construction of large sports venues in Shanghai. In recent years，Shanghai pays close attention to the national policy requirements of strengthening the construction of national fitness venues and facilities and reforming the operation and management mechanism of venues，and has achieved phased results in the consumption scene and intelligent transformation of sports venues，which better meets the residents’ demand for fitness，leisure and sports consumption. However，there are still some problems，such as insufficient supply of venues，low level of intensive management，mismatching of venue resources and event level，and the efficiency of operation and service needs to be improved. Facing the future trend of sports venues and urban integration development，this paper puts forward some targeted development suggestions.
