The new medical reform and “big health” policies have been changing the positioning and function of outpatient pharmacies in medical institutions，which gives new opportunities and challenges to community pharmacies and pharmacists as well.This article systematically analyzed the present status of community pharmacy，as well as the current domestic status of Chinese pharmacist workforce，structure and education background，to provide reference for the development of community pharmacists and pharmaceutical service in community pharmacy.
