The biomedical industry is a strategic emerging industry vigorously deployed by the country，Guangzhou Development District（GDD）is building a Chinese sample of world-class biomedical industry cluster with acceleration. This article sorts out the background，advantages and gaps of GDD building the Chinese sample of world-class biomedical industry cluster. On this basis，it suggests GDD implementing five major projects，building five major benchmarks，making efforts from the aspects of industrial policy，industrial agglomeration，research commercialization，service supporting，business environment，etc.，to build the Chinese sample of world-class biomedical industry cluster.
