Construction of Hengqin New Area aims to advance the diversified industrial development in Macao to a level conducive to promoting the industrial coordinated development in Hengqin and Macao and facilitating incorporation of Macao development into the overall national development program. Moreover，the Hengqin New Area is expected to play the role of “One center，one platform，one base”，becoming stronger and growing bigger in the Macao and Zhuhai pole，thus further advancing the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Some findings in the industrial coordinated development in Hengqin and Macao have been identified amid remarkable progress being made，such as mechanism coordination，rule coherence，revenue sharing，etc. To cope with severe challenge arising from COVID-19 outbreak，further advance construction of Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone in Hengqin to reinforce the achievements of industrial coordinated development. It is designed to build the deep coordination zone as a innovation cooperation zone adhering to the “One country，two systems” advantages，facilitating access to international practices，promoting the diversified economic development in Macao and serving the national opening strategy.
