As megacity continue to expand in scale and focus their elements，the uncertainty of risks is also increasing. To enhance the resilience，adaptability and responsiveness of megacity to disasters，the disaster prevention and mitigation capacity of megacity needs to be assessed antecedently under the concept of ecological civilization. By constructing an evaluation system of disaster prevention and mitigation capacity of megacity，combined with literature analysis and actual interview research，the study selects eight categories of indicators and adopted a weighted evaluation method to evaluate disaster prevention and mitigation capacity of sixteen districts in Beijing，in order to provide reference for megacity to improve disaster prevention and mitigation capacity. The results of the study show that，the higher overall evaluation scores are in Miyun District，Huairou District and Pinggu District，and the lower scores are in Chaoyang District，Haidian District and Xicheng District.
